The Bacolod-Silay Airports in Silay City Negros Occidental is set to resume commercial flights on June 8, after local authorities ease travel restrictions. However, passengers are expected to brace strict compliance on health protocols.
Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson said, airline companies will be imposing a stricter health protocols to limit the spread of the disease.
Under the new measures includes, thermal scanning check of passenger's body temperature and mandatory swab testing for passengers are required.
For the month of June, authorities said that they asked airline companies Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific Air, and AirAsia Philippines to bring only 1000 passengers per week as a start.
The move aims to ensure that that swab specimens can be taken from all incoming passengers for COVID-19 testing, adding the recent approval of the province’s very own test lab at the Teresita Lopez Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay City was “very timely.”
“Aside from the swab testing, incoming passengers will have to pass through thermal scanners to ensure that they do not have fever and undergo physical screening for COVID-19 symptoms,” Diaz said.
