Police mistakenly punched armed black business owner who reported robbery incident on his store went viral

A surveillance video which was taken three months ago have emerged online and went viral,  when a responding police officer directly punched a black business owner armed with gun.

It happened after the owner reported to the police about a robbery incident that happened on his store, which the officers believed he might have been the suspect.

The video shows three police officer entering a store in Sixth Avenue in Decatur in North Alabama, one officer directly punch the 47 year-old Kevin Penn and handcuffed him.

Penn says he called a police that day to report his store had been robbed.


" The police were called to investigate a robbery and Penn was armed, they believed he might have been the suspect," Decatur police Chief Nate Allen said.

As Penn appears to be refusing to put down a gun, an officer walks in and immediately punches him in the face, the body camera video shows.
