Singapore suggests the idea of 4-day work week

A four day work week were among the suggestions that emerged in the Singaporean Parliament meeting on June 5.  Singapore are looking into to improve the life of their work force.


Members of the Parliament (MP) Mohamed Irshad during a Fortitude Budget meeting suggested to let the country move away from the traditional five-day work week. Citing  to the current health crisis that affect everyone's life, Singaporean need to improve work-life balance.

“I propose moving away from the traditional five-day workweek to a four-day workweek with the option of working from home on the fifth day, and even having a flexi-hours work model.”


Meanwhile, other companies in Europe, Australia and New Zealand were already offering four-day work week with successful result.

"Microsoft Japan tried it and says productivity rose by 40% and electricity costs fell by 23%," Forbes reported.
