LSI in Leyte undergoing 14-day quarantine in a facility allegedly raped twice by security guard

 A locally stranded individual (LSI) who undergone mandatory 14-day quarantine at a facility in Villaba town Leyte was allegedly raped by a security guard, according to an official statement of Mayor Jorge Veloso.


According to a statement read by the Municipal Administrator, a 44-year-old woman who came from Cebu city was following mandatory quarantine when she arrived Leyte province.


Terrified woman reported the incident to the nurse on duty in the quarantine center that calls  the attention of the mayor. According to an unidentified woman, she was threatened at a gunpoint when the crime was committed.


She was  raped twice by the suspect, first on August 15 and second was on August 17


Mayor Jorge Veloso of Villaba town immediately ordered the arrest of the 49-year-old suspect upon learning the incident.


The suspect was arrested Monday morning and now under the custody of the Villaba town police, he is facing charges.
