Travel Advisory: Local carriers suspend flights under MECQ

Manila, Philippines - Domestic flights, public land transportation are suspended under modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ), starting August 4.

Philippine Airlines (PAL), Cebu Pacific Air (CEB) and Air Asia has canceled its domestic flights in and out of Manila for the next 14 days, after the government returned a more strict measures to combat coronavirus. 


Metro MAnila, Cavite, Bulacan, Rizal and Laguna were placed under MECQ after showing increased on coronavirus cases.

"All regular scheduled domestic flights to and from Manila (MNL) from August 4 to 18, 2020 are canceled in line with the Philippine Government's classification of Metro Manila (the National Capital Region) as a Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ) area for this 14-day period," the Philippine Airlines on their flight advisory published on August 3 said.


However, Domestic flights between Clark, Cebu, Davao and cities other than Manila are not affected and shall remain operational.

"International flights to and from Manila shall continue to operate, subject to further guidelines from the authorities in line with quarantine capacity and related arrangements," it added.
