Centuries town in Nueva Ecija emerges anew after decades of being submerged underwater

This 300-year-old town in Pantabangan, Nueva Ecija that was submerged and abandoned in 1970s has been showing its phase anew.

The place has sits underneath the waters when the old town became the site of the second-largest hydroelectric reservoir in Southeast Asia, forcing people to go to a higher ground.

Among the remains which was captured by the local named Ishaac Baniaga from the ruined city is the old Augustinian church of Pantabangan, where residents could barely see the whole structure since it was submerged underwater.

It was the third time the sunken city reemerged, first in 1983 when severe drought has struck the country and in 2014.
