Yuko Takeuchi, 40, an award-winning Japanese actress found lifeless in an apparent suicide at her home in Tokyo, report said.
A mother of two was taken to hospital early Sunday where she was declared dead. Her actor husband Taiki Nakabayashi, 35, found her at their home in Shibuya Ward.
Initial investigation from Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department suspects that Takeuchi took her own life. No suicide note has been found. Takeuchi was a famous actress in Japan, where she starred in many films and TV series during her career height.
She played her role in the 2018 HBO series Miss Sherlock, which as broadcast in several countries. She received several film awards in Japan including the Japanese Academy Film Prize for best actress in a leading role three years in a row from 2004.
She also appeared in a variety TV dramas and films such as the "Asuka" drama series broadcast by NHK and the movie "The Confidence Man JP - Episode of the Princess."
Meanwhile, her agency Stardust Promotion Inc. on its website said that they are looking to more details to the incident as " It came all of a sudden, and we are all stunned and saddened by the news.”
