Kapamilya actress Liza Soberano was one of the invited celebrity at Gabriela Youth event held online on Tuesday, October 13. The 22-year-old is a special guest to discuss about the issues that women are facing in the middle of the pandemic.
In the observance of the International Day of the Girl Child every October 11 'Mga Tinig ni Nene: Reclaiming Our Voice on the International Day of the Girl Child', she spoke about her opinion to many issues affecting young women and children - and how to create a safe place for everyone.
She said she hopes that by speaking up about issues besetting women, she will encourage others to do the same, just as her idols — among them Angel Locsin — have spurred her to action.
However, a day after her appearance at a Gabriela Youth webinar, a #BoycottLizaSoberano trend on Twitter.
To her defense, supporters were quick to send messages of support towards the actress.
