Parents name baby daughter after internet provider in exchange for 18 years free WiFi

A new parent of a baby girl in Swiss has decided to call their new daughter Twifia, after an Internet start-up Twifi. In exchange, they won themselves 18 years of free wi-fi connectivity.

The couple responded to a Facebook ad from Twifi, a Swiss Internet provider, offering an 18 years free internet in exchange of their newborn's name Twifus (if it was a boy) or Twifia(if it was a girl).

“Simply upload a photo of your child's civil birth certificate. After verification, Twifi will give you 18 years of free internet," the website said.

The couple, aged 30 and 35 have accepted the offer by giving the middle name Twifia, since it wasn't that bad name. The couple could now put their savings  they spent for WiFi to their daughter's savings account.

The father says, "The longer I thought about it, the more unique the name became for me, and that was when the thing got its charm."

With regard to the mother argument, well, "For me, the name Twifia also stands for connection in this context. For an eternal bond.

"There are much worse names. And the more often we say 'Twifia', the heartier the name sounds."

After a careful consideration, the couple decided to remain anonymous, because of the "accusation of having sold our child's name hits us very hard. We are also a little ashamed."
