Derek Ramsay has spoken out following the news that he and Andrea Torres have gone their separate ways, just a year in a relationship.
Taking to social media on Thursday, the 40-year-old actor said 'the breakup has happened so fast'.
The confirmation from the actor happened after a fan defended him against a basher blaming him for the reported split in a comment which appeared on his recent Instagram post with his family showing the absence of Andrea.
Derek responded to a follower's claimed that there might be something wrong with Andrea, comparing Derek and Andrea's relationship to his ex-girlfriends which had mostly been long-term.
"Ano ba kayo 1 year lang sila ni Andrea samantala 'yong past n'ya 6 years lahat bakit ganon kadali kay Andrea something is wrong with Andrea wag 'nyo isisi kay Derek lahat 'yong past n'ya 6 years," the commenter wrote.
Derek answered: “Please don’t point the finger at anyone. There is nothing wrong with Andrea. She is a great woman.”
“There is no third party!!!! The breakup has happened so fast. Maybe 2 people are just not meant to be,” he then requested for respect and privacy.
He will continue to defend Andrea for those who spread lies about her, he said.
"Mahal ko si Ada kaya 'di ako magsasalita, pero if I hear lies about her, I will defend her."
