Whether we've battled it ourselves or have supported loved ones who were fighting of cancer, life is very tough. Doting father TV broadcaster Anthony Taberna also grappled for his eldest daughter Zoey who is battling leukemia.
On his Instagram post, Taberna shared for the first time the photo of a smiling Zoey who agreed to shave her head following the effects of Chemo treatment. Anthony noted he could see the pain in her daughter's eyes as she tried to be brave.
"Nakangiti siya pero alam kong durog na durog ang puso niya nung nag umpisang malugas ang kaniyang buhok dahil sa chemotherapy,” he said.
Taberna couldn't help but become emotional as he revealed the latest update of Zoey's condition, leaving him to tears as he watched his daughter's hair started to lose.
"May video habang kinakalbo si Zoey. Akala ko ay malakas na ako. Marupok pala. At tuwing makikita ko iyon, hindi ko mapigil ang pagpatak ng aking luha. Ang wala o maikling buhok ang isa sa dahilan ng insecurity ni Zoey," he explained.
"Pero nung makita kong ipinost niya, nagpaalam ako na ipo-post ko rin. Hanga ako sa tapang ng aming panganay. I love you, Zoey" he added.

“At the time that Zoey was diagnosed, I was still in denial. We were shocked,” Roselle Velasco told Jessica Soho in an interview.
Zoey was diagnosed with leukemia in December 2019 and she didn't know that. "We always say that it’s bone marrow disease," she said. “We could not say the c-word to her, of course leukemia, because she might get scared."
After being referred to a specialist, their world stopped when Zoey was confirmed to suffer from a bone marrow disease which later on was identified as leukemia.
"Eksaktong isang taon na pala mula nung subukin ang aking pamilya ng isang karanasang hindi namin makakaya kung kami lamang. Bandang alas dos ng madaling araw, ginising ako ni Zoey na umiiyak dahil napakasakit daw ng kaniyang mga binti hanggang sa kaniyang hita," he said.
