Miss Universe Philippines 2017 Rachel Peters helped rescue a man who was caught fighting for his life off the Siruma, Camarines Sur coast.
The beauty queen, who has a passion for surfing happened to be in the right place at the right time reportedly rescued the man after he was carried away by strong current.
A netizen explained that Rachel never hesitate to go back to help the man identified as 'Topheng', despite of the risk she would encounter from going back into the water.

Meanwhile, her fiancé Governor Migz Villafuerte also took to his Instagram and expressed pride for Rachel's heroic act.
"So proud of my girl @rachelpetersx for saving this guy's life who got caught in a strong riptide earlier! very close call.
"The ocean is a whole different world and learning surfing the right way, with the right people is the best way to know the ocean! Sige na papayagan na kita magsiargao ng magsiargao pa more babe," he said.
On November 29, Rachel also aired her heartaches after her first rescued dog 'Milo' has died of erlichia, a tick-borne disease.
“Milo girl, I’m so sorry I wasn’t with you when you left the physical world but I hope you know I loved you more than words could describe.”
