Corazon Abalos, wife of former Electoral Commission chairman Benjamin Abalos has died. The news was confirmed by her granddaughter Mandaluyong City Council member Charisse Marie Abalos-Vargas in a Facebook post on Monday night.
"My idol, my first role model. I wouldn’t be who I am without you. Diba kayo nga po ang kamukha ko.
"Mama Cora, you were strength personified. Wala ang KKM, wala ang Mandaluyong Girl Scouts, if you didn’t build its foundations. Maraming nagmamahal sa inyo dahil alam nila na minahal mo din sila ," Abalos-Vargas said.
"I always knew that love, faith and devotion was possible and true because I saw it all in you. Through the tough times, you stood your ground in prayer and faith. Even until the last.
Today you fought your last and final battle. The most courageous woman I know. Rest now, Mama. We will never be ready, I will never be prepared for you to leave us. But I know you’re there with Ciara now. No more hurt. No more pain. I love you. ," she added.
The caused of her death wasn't disclosed, but in July 2020, it was reported that he had contracted coronavirus (Covid-19) along with other members of the Abalos family.
