Son unknowingly spends over P100,000 in two days for mobile games using parents' debit card

An 8-year-old boy from Davao City spent more than P100K in two days after he unknowingly buys downloadable mobile games on dad's old phone.

The child's mother, Julmar Grace Locsin, shared the story on her Facebook account how his son, Tice, spent that huge amount on mobile games.

The incident happened when her husband's phone with the Google Play app was handed to one of their twins last Christmas. "We allow them Super Book times, Messenger Kids with cousins and friends and War Robots," Julmar said.

Julmar admits that her husband's bank account is connected with Google Play because they 'sometimes rent good movies on YouTube'.

She and her husband only realised what had happened when they were able to track bank statements. At first, they thought that their son spent just P40,000, but it turned out Tice actually spent a sum of over P100,000 for paid version of downloadable games online.

Julmar said her son Tice, who is under the age of 10, felt very sorry and had not understood the impact of what he is doing. So, as punishment, Julmar said Tice got some spanking, and that she and her husband had both talked to their twins to remind them the importance of following the rules.

Julmar and her husband has requested a refund for the purchases made by Tice, but nothing has been showing on their bank account yet.
