Elderly Filipino receives hundreds of stitches after attacked in New York subway

Noel Quintana, 61, received hundreds of stitches after he was slashed on his face with a box cutter and left him bleeding inside a subway train in New York.

ABC's Eyewitness News reported the suspect was kicking his backpack he was holding during the ride. When Quintana asked him to stop, the man directly attacked him and walk away when the train stopped at First Avenue and 14th Street.

At first he didn't realize his face was badly injured until he touched it and felt the blood on his fingertips.

“I thought he punched me or something — and when I saw the reaction of the people in the train I thought I was hit,” he told New York Daily News.

He was left bleeding, he stumbled off the train, and was able to get help to the next subway stop after a ticket booth worker called 911.

Police are now searching for the suspect, who was described as between 20 to 30-year-old male with black afro hair, wearing Louis Vuitton logo black mask and a black North Face jacket. The New York police have released images of the attacker and asking for public help to find him.
