The State-run People's Television (PTV) Network apologized for #DutertePalpak tweet, adding "the management will certainly institute disciplinary actions against members of the social media team who are behind the erroneous posting."
The tweet with a hashtag #DutertePalpak was supposed to specify President Rodrigo Duterte's order to provide free face masks to the public to help curb the spike of COVID cases, PTV said in a statement.
But the tweet being released online appeared with a hashtag # in question, along with the South Korean boyband BTS, both were trending on Twitter during at the time of the tweet's posting.

He pointed out that one of the reasons for the quick transmission of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) is the lack of compliance by the public due to the lack of money to buy a mask.
