NBA's Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard and actress Yassi Pressman has joined force to extend their help to the Philippine General Hospital (PGH) which caught fire last May 16.
Pressman together with Ang probinsyano Rep. Ronnie Ong visited PGH to turn over the donations they received, including the cash aid from Damian Lillard.
“PGH needs our help to buy new equipment and repair their building structures. But what’s most important is that no lives were lost. Hanga talaga tayo sa galing at tapang ng health workers natin na nagligtas sa mga pasyente lalo na sa NICU (neonatal intensive care unit) babies,” said Ong in a statement.
The damage to the hospital including the equipment and supplies are estimated P60-million. With the combined efforts of Pressman and Lillard, they were able to donate over P1-million.
“Also, huge thank you to big brother @damianlillard for sending over such a generous amount, kahit na wala siya sa Pilipinas, just to be able to help,” said Pressman in Instagram post.
The Portland Trail Blazers won Game 4 of their first-round playoffs series against the Denver Nuggets.
