Actress Salma Hayek revealed in an interview with Variety that she contracted COVID-19 and the virus nearly killed her as her condition deteriorated.
"My doctor begged me to go to the hospital because it was so bad,” Hayek recalled. “I said, ‘No, thank you. I’d rather die at home."
The 54-yeear-old actor said that she even put on oxygen and spent about seven weeks in isolation in her home.
She returned to work after battling COVID-19, and finally joined the cast of Ridley Scott's "House of Gucci."
"It was not a lot of time,” Hayek says. “It was easy. It was the perfect job to just get back into it. I had started doing Zooms at one point, but I could only do so many because I would get so tired," Hayek said.
