Nesthy Petecio showered with P17-M, condo unit, and more

 Sure win! Silver-medalist Nesthy Petecio is assured to bring home P17-million in cash incentives in her Tokyo Olympic victory. 





Under the Republic Act 10699, runner-up finishers at the Olympics will get P5 million. She was also showered with millions of pledges from business tycoons such as Manny Pangilinan and Ramon Ang, who will give P5-million each. Cong. Mikee Romero also promised to give P2-million for Petecio. 





The silver medalist is also set to receive a P10-million Suntrust condominium in Davao City from real estate tycoon Andrew Tan. Meanwhile, Philippine Airlines has gifted her 60,000 Mabuhay Miles lifetime, or a forever flyers as described by the company.




Despite falling short of her golden bid, Petecio makes history as the first Filipina Olympic boxing medalist.






The Davao del Sur pride Nesthy Petecio finished with a silver medal on her featherweight final campaign in the Tokyo Olympics after losing to her rival Sena Irie of Japan via unanimous decision on Tuesday, Aug. 3.
