Cebuana skateboarding star Margielyn Didal has teamed up with New Balance Numeric on a 272 inspired by Cebuano's famous rice cake known as "puso."
Puso is a staple food in Cebu in which rice is cooked inside a pouch made from woven young coconut leaves.
Puso was Didal's sideline to earn money for a living when she started skateboarding at an early age in her hometown in Cebu.
Didal has won gold on her first skateboarding women's street event in Asian Games in 2018. However, she end up at 7th placed during the Olympic finals in Japan after sustaining a fall during the opening round of the tricks section. But she earned international admiration for her sportsmanship and resilience.
Margielyn Didal X New Balance Numeric 272 "Puso" is available at New Balance web site and local skate shop, priced at $80 USD.
