PBB Otso housemate Franki Russell will try her luck for Miss Universe United Arab Emirates 2021. The Filipino-Kiwi model-turned-actress is currently in Dubai, United Arab Emirates for the pageant's Smile Train charity visit on October 24, 2021.
This is the first time UAE will organize the Miss Universe pageant. From the 300 applicants invited to the casting call on October 20, 30 candidates was revealed to compete for the national crown and win the opportunity to represent UAE at Miss Universe 2021 in Eilat, Israel on December 12, 2021.
The Miss Universe UAE 2021 will be held at La Perle in Al Habtoor City, Dubai, UAE on November 7, 2021. There is no swimsuit competition during the competition.
Franki on her Twitter account said: "It may not be the flag you prefer, but I am so excited because this particular pageant represent a lot more than that.
"Diversity, celebrating girls from all cultural backgrounds, breaking stereotypes and empowerment. I always want to try something new and challenge myself every day, while having fun and staying true to who I am.
"Lets grow and step out of our comfort zones together.
"To those who have shown their support, i see you and I feel so blessed."
