The Michael Jordan's pair of sneakers worn in his early basketball career was sold for nearly $1.5 million (estimated to over P76-million), a record price set at an auction of game-worn footwear.
The signed sneakers are from Jordan's fifth NBA game in his rookie season, Sotheby's said.
"The most valuable sneakers ever offered at auction—Michael Jordan's regular season game-worn Nike Air Ships from 1984—have just sold at $1,472,000 in our luxury sale in Las Vegas," the Sotheby's tweeted.

The new record beat the pair of Nike Air Jordans which sold $615,000 in August 2020 at a Christie's auction. Meanwhile, Nike Air Yeezy 1s worn by rapper Kanye West also sold in a private sale a whopping $1.8 in April.
