Lebron James was ejected after a swung that draws blood at Isaiah Stewart's face when they fought for a rebound on Sunday's 121-116 victory over host Detroit Piston.
It was the second time James was ejected on his entire career, following in 2017 incident in which he was involved for arguing with an official.
The action began with Detroit holding a 78-66 lead with 9:18 left in the third quarter. Stewart was ejected from the game for committing two technical fouls, but his temper had not calmed down even as he was exiting the floor.

Anthony Davis, meanwhile, said it was an unintentional moved on the part of James.
"Stewart tried to get physical with Lebron and Lebron did the same thing," he said. "Everybody in the league knows Lebron's not a dirty guy. As soon as he did it, he looked back at him and said, 'Oh, my bad, I didn't try to do it.'
"I don't know what Stewart was trying to do... I've never seen a player try to do that since I've been playing. I know we've seen it before back in the day. That was uncalled for," he added.
