Senator Bong Go has announced that he is withdrawing from the 2022 presidential race.
"In the past few days, I realized in my heart and in my mind are contradicting my actions. talagang nagre-resist po ang aking katawan, puso, at isipan. Tao lang po ako, nasasaktan at napapagod din," Go told reporters.
"Sa ngayon po, 'yun ang mga rason ko. That is why I am withdrawing from the race," the senator added.
Go had been considered Presidential Rodrigo Duterte anointed successor for the 2022 elections.
"Naisip ko na ay siguro hindi ko pa panahon sa ngayon. Diyos lang po ang nakakaalam kung kailan talaga ang tamang panahon ko. Ayaw ko pong lalong maipit si President Duterte..." Go said.
