Miss India Harnaaz Sandhu was crowned in the 70th Miss Universe held in Eilat, Israel, on Sunday after bested 79 other candidates. Sandhu, 21, is now the third Miss Universe titleholder from India.
She was presented the crown by her successor, Miss Universe 2020 Andrea Meza before taking her first walk.
Sandhu is a strong advocate for women's empowerment. She is an actor who draws inspiration from Priyanka Chopra.
"Stop comparing yourselves with others and let's talk about more important things that is happening worldwide. Know that you are unique and that's what makes you beautiful... Come out, speak for yourself, because you are the leader of your life. I believe in myself that's why I'm standing here today," she said in a Q&A portion.
