Miss Kuyamis 2022 pageant night in Misamis Oriental ended in disaster when the stage catches fire.
The incident happened during the coronation night held January 13, 2022 at the Ginoong City Gymnasium where Annabelle Mae Tate McDonnell was crowned.
The pageant host, Marco Gumabao, personally experienced the incident caused by fireworks and confetti. According to him it was a quick fire incident which was later extinguished by the event personnel.
“Nasa stage pa ako nun and still facing the crowd, biglang pagtingin ko sa kaliwa, nasusunog na yung confetti dahil sa electric fireworks.
“Nakita ko na medyo malaki yung sunog, kaya bumaba agad ako ng stage.
“Mabilis naman nila na-control yung sunog so nothing to worry about. Ganoon talaga kainit sa stage dahil lahat ng candidates ay deserving manalo.
"Congrats Miss Kuyamis for an amazing show," said Gumabao.
Despite the incident it can be seen in the viral video that the show continue and other contestants could be seen celebrating on stage while the event personnel are busy to set out the fire.
