TV REPORTER HIT BY CAR ON LIVE BROADCAST

TV reporter Tori Yorgey was live on air covering a water main break in West Virginia, USA, when she was unexpectedly bumped by a moving car behind and knocked her down. The camera also fell to the ground, with Yorgey saying she's okay seconds after she fell to the ground.

"On my God! I just got hit by a car, but I'm okay," said Yorgey off-camera. "I just got hit by a car, but I'm okay, Tim," she told anchor Tim Irr.

"That's a first for you on TV, Tori," Irr said.

Yorgey, is said to be reporting alone without a crew, fortunately she got back telling every she's okay!

"We're all good. I'm OK. That's live TV for you," she said.

A Denver Post's reporter Elizabeth Hernandez for her reaction said on Twitter: "A journalist getting hit by a car live on air & continuing her job is not a story of resilience but of a sick industry & work culture that pressures ppl to put their job above their health/safety. Let’s work on making this a job where you don’t have to be resilient every day."

Another comment said: "to be clear I will not tolerate Tim Irr slander on this timeline, his monitor is a teleprompter and not showing him what is on the air and thus he had no idea what had happened."

"A terrifying example of the broken local news industry - sending young reporters alone at night to cover dangerous topics and then go live with no cover or situational awareness. Working your way up to a better station is no longer just about ambition, but also self preservation," Kate Cagle of Spectrum News in South California said.
