ATONG ANG EARNS P3B GROSS INCOME PER MONTH FROM E-SABONG

While the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation generates P640-million revenue from e-sabong per month, gaming tycoon Charlie "Atong" Ang have disclosed that he is earning a gross monthly income of P3-billion.

The revelation came out during a Senate committee on public order and dangerous drug's second hearing on the cases which involved the missing "sabungeros."

Senate Minority Leader Franklin Drilon asked Ang about the range of amount of e-sabong bets every day.

According to Ang, daily bets could raise to an average of P1-B to P2-B, or gets around P60-B worth of bets per month.

Ang said that they are getting 5% or around P3 billion worth of commission.

"Five percent of P60 billion is roughly P3 billion per month. 'Yun ang commission ninyo (Is that your commission)?" Drilon asked.

“Uulitin ko lang (again), P3 billion per month even assuming that you incur expenses on this, P640 million per month of revenue by PAGCOR is pittance, is very small compared to the gross income of Lucky 8,” he added.

The probe for the disappearance of 34 persons allegedly involved in e-sabong game fixing has been resumed after the 23 senators signed a Senate resolution calling on Malacañang and Pagcor to temporarily suspend the e-sabong operations.
