BOY SURVIVE FROM DEADLY LANDSLIDE IN LEYTE BY HIDING IN A REFRIGERATOR

 




An 11-year-old boy in Baybay City, Leyte was able to survived from deadly landslide caused by the tropical storm "Agaton". Local authorities said that they found the boy lying inside the refrigerator during a rescue operation in a village of Kantagnos.





The boy named CJ Jasme was reportedly at home with his family when the incident happened - a massive mudslide struck their house on April 15. CJ locked himself in the fridge where he spent the next 20 hours.



The rescue team arrived on the scene and help pull CJ to safety. His leg was broken but he was still conscious, in what's being called by many an 'absolute miracle'.




Rescuers said, the first words that the child spoke to them, "I'm hungry."



Unfortunately, CJ's parents were both killed and buried in the mudslide. 




Still, there are 69 people went missing in the city, according to the latest numbers from the Baybay City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, with barangay Kantagnos reporting the largest number of missing people.



Meanwhile, the national disaster management bureau said the total death toll reached 172 caused by "Agaton".
