The Ateneo Blue Eagles Men's Basketball Team has won the first-ever World University Basketball Series (WUBS) held in Tokyo, Japan. They defeated the team from Japan, Chinese Taipei, and Indonesia in 3-0 sweep.
They bagged the trophy after defeating the hometown team from Tokai University, 68-59, on Thursday, August 11.
This came after a tough victory over the team from the National Chengchi University of Chinese Taipei on Wednesday, August 10, 88-78.
Meanwhile, the Blue Eagles overthrow the Universitas Pelita Harapan of Indonesia with a huge gap on Tuesday, August 9, with final score 125-39.
The invitational game was held at the Yoyogi National Stadium Second Gymnasium in Tokyo from August 9-11.
