The Rizal Monument in Manila including the Quezon Memorial Shrine in Quezon City both lit up to express solidarity for Ukraine's 31st Independence Day, August 24.
On Wednesday the country also commemorate exactly six months after Russia's invasion.
Boris Johnson praised the "steel and courage" of the Ukrainian people in defending their country against the Russian invasion that began on February 24.
Johnson pledged that the UK will continue to provide Ukraine with "every possible military, economic and humanitarian support."
