Wow! finally Vogue Philippines has revealed its most-awaited first issue, marking the arrival of the Filipino edition of the global fashion authority.
Recently, Vogue Philippines released a photo teaser with a woman wearing a sheer pleated yellow dress. Netizens have been puzzled as to who is the first cover of Vogue Philippines.
"Our stories are woven into our fabric, stitched into our garments. Follow #VoguePhilippines as we chart a course through fashion's new world."- they posted on their Instagram account.
Featured on the cover is Filipino-American model Chloe Magno who was photographed by British-Filipino-Egyptian photographer Sharif Hamza.
Vogue, the international fashion magazine franchise, has reached the Philippines. Vogue Philippines launched its first issue. Revealing its cover is the motherland herself–The Philippines, featuring Chloe Magno, a Filipino-American model whose roots are from Davao.
"For our maiden issue, Vogue Philippines takes you on a voyage through the three main islands of the Philippine archipelago—Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. We invited @sharifhamza, a British Filipino-Egyptian photographer, and @chlomagno, a half-Filipino, half-American model to celebrate our roots as islanders, and explore how we are connected, not separated by water."
They wanted to be guided by Filipino values such as caring, heroism, and optimism.
"Our hope was guided by the Filipino values of Malasakit (deep empathy), Bayanihan (community), and optimism that defines so much of our culture," shares Editor-in-Chief @_beavaldes_. "Instead, this bounty was showered on us, openly and generously, by so many of our fellow countrymen."
