CALAMBA HIGH SCHOOL TEACHER OPENS FREE CLASSROOM PANTRY FOR HUNGRY STUDENTS

Christian Obo, a high school teacher from Canlubang, Calamba City, has gone viral for his impressive initiative using his own money to provide free food supplies for his hungry students.

Inspired by the community pantry during the pandemic, teacher Christian is responding to the needs of his less fortunate students who go to school with their stomach empty.

Christian's pantry is packed with free food items such as snacks, milk, and other food products as face-to-face classes started.

He said that he has been doing this before pandemic since 2017 to help kids who are in need after experiencing the same life while growing up.

"It's a payback time. Ang karanasan ko nung elementary and high school yung nagturo sakin na bigyan pansin ang mga ganito problema," he said.

Christian plans to continue his cause to aid struggling students.

“Kapos man sa buhay may ibang paraan ang Diyos para mapunuan ang mga kulang, at lahat ng mga batang nakatanggap ng tulong itutuloy ang circle of kindness hindi matatapos, laging nagpapatuloy lang,” the teacher said.

In his separate social media post, Christian was happy to announce that all the classrooms in their school has their own pantry with the help of local government units.
