Khimo Gumatay has impressed American singer and Boyz II Men member Wanya Morris for his performance in the Idol Philippines Season 2.
Gumatay, 22, first impressed Morris in his performance last August 22 as he sang Brian Mcknight's hit song "One Last Cry" in the opening of the live show.
The award-winning singer shared his support for Gumatay who was selected on the top five.
Gumatay as the top contender in the reality show came back for another round last September 11 where the Top five hopeful showed their best performance for the competition.
This time, Gumatay performed his rendition of the 1992 hit song of the Boyz II Men's 'End of the Road' that earned standing ovation from the four judges, Regine, Moira, Gary V, and Chito.
His trending performance was then again praised by the American singer and was shared on his social media account.
Gumatay was left emotional for the international singer's recognition. He will compete in the second season of the Idol Philippines Top 5 hopefuls including Kice, Ryssi Avila, Anne Raniel, and Bryan Chong.
