Paolo Contis has addressed widespread criticism especially from Kathryn Bernardo's fans over his statement at the unfinished clip that resurfaced online.
Contis first seen at the season of Paolos' talk show where he started so proud for his guest Alden Richards. However, his statement was cut and was quickly shared on social media which appeared to be downplaying Kathryn Bernardo role in the success of blockbuster movie 'Hello, Love, Goodbye'.
"Yung number one movie ng Star Cinema at ABS-CBN, taga-GMA yung artista," said Paolo, which has gone viral like wildfire.
A netizen recorded the unfinished clip and posted it on Twitter along with the caption, "Paolo Contis spitting facts only. Oh wag niyo ko aawayin ha si Paolo nagsabe niyan."
The tweet went viral with several Kathryn Bernardo's fans has been taken it negatively, and started to fire up social media debate.
But on Friday's episode of "Fast Talk With Boy Abunda," Paolo addressed the issue.
"Medyo nagulat ako kasi it was taken out of context," he said. "Obviously 'yung nag-post, para sa akin ah to be honest, medyo naghahanap siya ng issue," he said.
"To be honest kung ako din naman 'yung fan ni Kathryn at 'yun lang 'yung maikling part 'yung napanood ko... mao-offend din ako," he added.
Paolo said that he hopes people would watch the whole interview, revealing that Alden was thankful to Star Cinema and to Kathryn.
