BTS MEMBER JUNG KOOK TO BEGIN MILITARY SERVICE IN DECEMBER

SEOUL, South Korea (November 23, 2023) – BTS member Jung Kook announced on Wednesday that he will begin his mandatory military service in December. This marks the final step in the group's staggered enlistment process, with all seven members now expected to fulfill their national duty by mid-2025.

BTS, one of the world's most popular boy bands, has been on a temporary hiatus since three of its members enlisted in the military earlier this year. The remaining four members – RM, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook – have now initiated the enlistment process, according to BTS's management agency.

"I'm leaving you for a short while to serve in the military," Jung Kook said in a message to fans on Wednesday. "After I return, I promise that I will be where I always am, on stage – having grown."

The staggered enlistment plan has been beneficial to BTS's management agency, Hybe, as it allows some members to remain active while others are away serving in the military. This strategy has helped to maintain the group's global presence and popularity.

With all seven members now committed to fulfilling their military service, BTS fans can expect a reunion of the group sometime in mid-2025. The band's future plans are eagerly anticipated by millions of fans around the world.V
