Three FiIipina Win IELTS Prize 2023 Educational Grant for Overseas Studies

Three Filipinos have won an educational funding contest against thousands of applicants across Asia. Kaela Joselle Madrunio, Casey Anne Cruz, and Rafi Victoria Sartin will receive funding or support in their pursuit of taking undergraduate or postgraduate studies in English-speaking universities overseas.

 


About the IELTS Prize 2023

The British Council, an international organization for educational and cultural opportunities, awarded the IELTS Prize 2023 to three outstanding Filipino students. The prize is designed to support high-performing students who demonstrate academic excellence and commitment to their communities.

 


 

Winners and Prizes

  • Kaela Joselle Madrunio, winner of the Grand Prize, will receive P350,000 (£5,000) in financial support to pursue an MA in Forensic Linguistics at Aston University in the United Kingdom.
  • Casey Anne Cruz, winner of the Second Prize, will receive P139,000 (£2,000) to pursue a Masters of Arts Program in Human Rights at Mahidol University in Thailand.
  • Rafi Victoria Sartin, winner of the Third Prize, will receive P64,000 (£1,000) to pursue a Master of Marketing at Western Sydney University in Australia.
 
 

Eligibility Requirements

To be considered for the IELTS Prize, applicants must:

  • Have completed an IELTS test within the British Council
  • Have a minimum overall IELTS band score of 5.5 or above
  • Demonstrate a commitment to being a British Council IELTS ambassador
