Love Conquers Language Barriers: Fitness Trainer Ben Carpenter Surprises Korean Wife with Heartfelt Speech in Her Native Tongue.

In a heartwarming display of love and respect, fitness trainer and author Ben Carpenter surprised his Korean wife, Sohee Carpenter, with a heartfelt speech in Korean during their wedding ceremony on August 2, 2023, at the picturesque Rancho Palos Verdes in California.

Ben's surprise speech, which he had secretly prepared for over a year, was captured in a video that went viral on TikTok, garnering over 1.9 million views and 4,271 shares. The video showcases the moment Ben, mid-speech, switches to Korean, leaving his wife and her family in awe.

"To everyone from Sohee's family, as a show of respect," Ben says in Korean, adding, "I have been secretly taking Korean lessons so I can finally speak to you in Korean."

Ben's heartfelt words, expressing his gratitude for Sohee's family's acceptance and his promise to love and care for Sohee forever, touched the hearts of many, especially brides who appreciated his efforts to bridge the language barrier and connect with his wife's family on a deeper level.

In a Facebook post on August 5, 2023, Ben shared his overwhelming joy, describing the wedding as the realization of a lifelong dream. He also expressed his gratitude for the overwhelming response to the viral video, stating, "The support and love we have received has been truly overwhelming."

Ben's story serves as a reminder that love knows no boundaries, and that learning a loved one's language can be a powerful way to express affection and respect.

@bdccarpenter For nearly a year, I have been keeping a big secret from my wife, until our wedding day. I kept sneaking off for 30 minutes at a time for video calls she didn’t know about, or pretending they were for work when they weren’t. In bed I would often put one headphone in so she couldn’t hear what I was doing, and turning my screen away so she couldn’t see either. I set myself a goal of learning just a teeny tiny bit of Korean as a show of respect to her and her family on our wedding day. I wasn’t originally planning on sharing this video from a couple of months ago, because I try to make social media about posting educational content for you all. But, it seems silly not to share one of the most important days of my life. So, here is my full wedding speech, for any of you who are interested. ❤️ #wedding #weddingtiktok #groom #speech #weddingday #bride #korean #korea ♬ original sound - Ben Carpenter
