How to Disable NameDrop on Your iPhone

Apple's new contact-sharing feature, NameDrop, has been a topic of discussion among iPhone users. While some find it convenient to share their contact information with others simply by raising their phone, others have concerns about privacy and security. If you're among those who feel uncomfortable with NameDrop, you can easily disable it.

Disabling NameDrop

Disabling NameDrop is a straightforward process. Follow these steps:

  •     Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
  •     Tap General.
  •     Scroll down and select AirDrop.
  •     Toggle the Bring Devices Together option to the off position.

Re-Enabling NameDrop

If you decide you want to re-enable NameDrop in the future, simply follow the same steps and toggle the Bring Devices Together option back on.

Additional Considerations

While NameDrop isn't inherently dangerous, it's important to exercise caution when using it. Be mindful of who you're sharing your contact information with, and avoid accidentally sharing it with someone you don't want to.

If you have any concerns about privacy or security, it's always better to err on the side of caution and disable NameDrop.
