Government Employees Rejoice! Service Recognition Incentive Arrives December 15th!

Over 1.8 million government employees across the country are set to receive their Service Recognition Incentive (SRI) starting today, December 15, 2023, as announced by Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Secretary Amenah Pangandaman.

This welcome surprise, authorized by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. in Administrative Order 12 last week, shows the government's appreciation for the tireless dedication of its public servants.

Who qualifies for the SRI?

  •     All regular, contractual, and casual civilian personnel.

  •     Personnel still in government service as of November 30, 2023.

  •     Personnel who have rendered at least four months of satisfactory service as of November 30, 2023, including those under alternative work arrangements.

  •     Employees who haven't received any additional year-end benefit in FY 2023 beyond the one authorized by existing laws.

What about those who worked less than four months? No worries! They will receive a pro-rated SRI based on their service time.

How much is the SRI? Each eligible employee will receive a uniform amount of up to P20,000.

"This is a way of making our public servants feel valued and acknowledged for their good work and efficient performance," Secretary Pangandaman stated. She further emphasized that the incentive recognizes the collective effort of government employees in pursuing the Philippine Development Plan and the President's 8-Point Socioeconomic Agenda.

So, government employees, check your accounts today! This early Christmas gift is your well-deserved reward for your dedication and service to the nation.
