Pacquiao vs. Mayweather Rematch in 2024? Filipino Icon Hints at Showdown in Japan

Boxing legend Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao ignited the fight world with a cryptic announcement at Rizin 45 in Japan.

Responding to a question from Rizin CEO Nobuyuki Sakakibara about a potential rematch with archrival Floyd Mayweather Jr., Pacquiao coyly replied, "I will see you here in Japan again with a big fight against...," before pausing and letting Sakakibara finish the sentence: "Floyd Mayweather."

The mere mention of Pacquiao vs. Mayweather sent shockwaves through the boxing community. Their 2015 "Fight of the Century" remains the highest-grossing pay-per-view event in history, and a rematch would undoubtedly be a blockbuster spectacle.

While both fighters have officially retired, they've dabbled in exhibition bouts. Mayweather, known for his undefeated professional record, has participated in 10 exhibitions, while Pacquiao faced YouTuber DK Yoo in December 2022.

Though details remain scarce, Pacquiao's tease at Rizin suggests a potential 2024 showdown in Japan. Whether it's a true rematch or another exhibition, the prospect of Pacquiao vs. Mayweather II is enough to set the boxing world buzzing.
