A recent survey by UK website BusinessFinancing.co.uk highlights areas for improvement at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA). Based on reviews from business travelers, NAIA received a score of 2.78 on a scale of 1 to 10, ranking it the fourth worst airport in Asia.
Kuwait International Airport took the undesirable title with the lowest score (1.69), followed by airports in Kazakhstan and Saudi Arabia.
However, the survey also identified leading airports in the region, with Vietnam's Noi Bai International Airport topping the list with a score of 6.80. Other high-ranking airports included Singapore's Changi Airport, Hong Kong International Airport, and Qatar's Hamad International Airport.
The survey data comes from passenger reviews on the air travel website Airline Quality.
While facing this ranking, NAIA is undergoing a transformation phase. Following a successful bid by a consortium led by San Miguel Corp. (SMC), the airport is undergoing rehabilitation efforts. The consortium aims to elevate NAIA to world-class standards, while ensuring a beneficial revenue-sharing agreement for the government. Their vision prioritizes fairness, long-term sustainability, and a positive outcome for all stakeholders.
