Heads Up: March 11th Isn't a Holiday!

Don't be fooled by a fake proclamation circulating online. The Philippine government, through the Official Gazette, has confirmed this document claiming March 11th as a holiday for Eid'l Fitr is false.

It appears to be a tampered version of an older proclamation. The actual date for Eid'l Fitr hasn't been announced yet.

"ATTENTION: The circulating document labeled “Proclamation No. 729,” which purportedly declares Monday, March 11, 2024, as a nationwide regular holiday in celebration of Eid’l Fitr, is spurious.

"It is a tampered version of Proclamation No. 729, s. 2019, issued by then Executive Secretary Medialdea during the previous administration," the official Gazette said in a statement on Facebook.

Stay informed! Refer to the Official Gazette for official holiday declarations.
