Angie Mead King, a prominent figure, recently recounted a harrowing ordeal on her Instagram account. While driving her modified Acura NSX on the South Luzon Expressway, the vehicle unexpectedly caught fire.
"Hi guys, thanks for checking. I'm alive," she posted, expressing relief. "The car is gone. It's literally gone. Caught on fire after the exit. No words. I'm okay; my lungs hurt. The car was on fire when I was driving it, and then the car dropped down and basically burst into flame."
King acknowledged that the car's modifications might have played a role in the incident, though the exact cause of the fire remains undetermined. "Car is gone, and just gotta continue the day and I don’t know; there’s no way to rebuild it; the rear chassis is completely burned. The wiring is completely burned. The engine looks like the metal is probably wired because the flames were intense. Not the way I wanted to end my day," she added.
She extended her gratitude to a Good Samaritan who offered assistance after the incident and to the emergency responders who promptly attended to the situation. "One day I'll get another one for sure but for now I'll live another day. Thank you to the Good Samaritan for picking me up on SLEX, The fire, towing and SLEX police were amazing and wanted to thank them for the speedy service," she said.
On her Instagram account, King shared a video showcasing the charred remains of her red NSX sports car, its lower half completely destroyed by the flames. In a subsequent video, King provided an update to her followers, assuring them of her well-being.
"Hi guys, thanks for checking [in], I am alive. We gotta take care of towing the car. The car is gone, it's literally gone, caught on fire after the exit. It's gone. No words," a visibly shaken King stated.
She confirmed that responders at SLEX successfully extinguished the fire.
