Typhoon Pepito continues to intensify, prompting PAGASA to raise storm signals over several areas in Luzon and Eastern Visayas. The powerful typhoon is expected to bring strong winds and heavy rainfall to affected regions.
Residents in these areas are advised to take necessary precautions and monitor weather updates closely.
Super Typhoon Pepito intensified on Saturday, packing maximum sustained winds of 185 kph and gusts of up to 230 kph. As of 10 AM, it was located 185 km east of Catarman, Northern Samar, moving west-northwestward at 25 kph.
Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Ofel is gradually weakening as it moves over the waters west of Taiwan.
