Super Typhoon Ofel intensified on Thursday morning, prompting PAGASA to raise Wind Signal No. 5 over parts of Cagayan province. The typhoon, packing maximum sustained winds of 185 kph and gusts of up to 230 kph, is expected to bring destructive winds, torrential rains, and storm surges to Northern Luzon.
Potential Landfall and Track
Ofel is projected to make landfall over eastern Cagayan or northern Isabela on Thursday afternoon. Another landfall is possible over the Babuyan Islands late Thursday or early Friday. After traversing Northern Luzon, the typhoon is expected to recurve past the Babuyan Islands and weaken into a remnant low as it moves towards the southern Ryukyu Islands.

Tropical Storm Man-yi or Pepito
Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Man-yi, which may be named "Pepito" upon entering the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Thursday evening, is also threatening the country. It may intensify into a super typhoon and make landfall over Bicol on Saturday, November 16, and cross Central Luzon on Sunday, November 17. However, the track forecast remains uncertain and may change in the coming days.
