Creamline, led by the veteran prowess of Alyssa Valdez, secured a hard-fought 25-22, 28-30, 26-24, 17-25, 15-13 victory over ZUS Coffee in the Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference on Thursday, December 12, at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.
Valdez, the team's captain, showcased her dominance with 17 points, including 16 attacks and one block. This crucial performance extended Creamline's winning streak to four games, tying them with Cignal for the top spot in the league.
Despite a setback in the fourth set, Creamline rallied and unleashed a fiery attack in the decisive fifth set. However, ZUS Coffee, led by Thea Gagate, put up a strong fight, leading 11-9.
Ultimately, Creamline's experience and determination prevailed, securing the victory and maintaining their undefeated streak.
Bernadeth Pons contributed 17 points for Creamline, who overcame ZUS Coffee's strong net defense with 11 blocks. Jema Galanza and Michele Gumabao also played key roles, scoring 15 and 14 points, respectively.
For ZUS Coffee, Kate Santiago and Thea Gagate led the scoring with 19 and 16 points, respectively. Michele Gamit and Glaudine Troncoso combined for 24 points, but it wasn't enough to prevent their third loss in five games.
