Filipino-American gymnast Aleah Finnegan continues to shine for the LSU Tigers, leading her team to a record-breaking performance at the second-annual Sprouts Farmers Market Collegiate Quad Meet in Oklahoma City. The Paris Olympics veteran showcased her exceptional skills, claiming the floor exercise title and contributing to LSU's highest score in program history.
Finnegan, the reigning US NCAA national floor exercise champion, delivered a near-perfect routine, earning a remarkable 9.975. Her performance anchored the Tigers to a season-high 49.525 on the floor, surpassing their previous best set just last week against Iowa State.
The 22-year-old senior also displayed her versatility by adding a strong 9.925 on the beam. This impressive score helped her secure second place in the all-around competition with a total of 39.625, tying with teammate and freshman standout Kailin Chio.
The Tigers started the meet strong, posting the highest vault score (49.450) among all four teams. Freshman Lexi Zeiss made an impressive collegiate debut with a 9.85, followed by Finnegan's 9.90 and senior Chase Brock's 9.925.
This dominant performance solidifies Finnegan's position as a key contributor to the LSU Tigers. With her second floor title in as many meets and her sixth overall this year, Finnegan is proving to be a force to be reckoned with in collegiate gymnastics. Her contributions are instrumental in LSU's quest for another national championship title.
