 Dubai, UAE - Mindanawon cinema took center stage at the recent Emirates Film Festival, with the indie film "Hello, Daisy" scooping up three major awards. Produced by Duwende Films, this powerful film, exploring the impact of online sexual abuse,  garnered accolades for Best Emerging Filmmaker, Best Actress (Mia Cabaobao), and Best Screenplay (Franky Arrocena).

Facing stiff competition from 427 entries worldwide, "Hello, Daisy" resonated with the jury and audience alike. This triumph is a testament to the burgeoning talent pool in Mindanao's independent film scene. The entirely Dabawenyo team, from cast and crew to production, dedicated their victory to victims of online sexual abuse, bringing much-needed attention to this pressing issue.
