Manila, Philippines - The Aquino administration will end its term with at least 7 completed Public-Private Partnership (PPP) projects, Executive Director Cosette Canilao said.
The PPP program was launched by the Aquino administration in 2010 to create viable infrastructure needed to support the government's goal of achieving inclusive and sustainable economic growth.
Aquino administration considered the 6.64-billion worth of public-private partnership (PPP) projects as a gift to the next administration.
"We are bidding out 10 to 11 projects. These are jump-started, already in the bidding stage. We will gift wrap these projects to the next administration and expect these (deals) to be honored even beyond June 30," the PPP Center's Andre Palacios said on his second day as executive director.
These projects are:
P122.8-billion ($2.73-billion) Laguna Lakeshore Expressway Dike project
P50.18-billion ($1.11-billion) Regional Prison Facilities through PPP project
P18.99-billion ($422-million) Davao Sasa Port Modernazation project
P2.34-billion ($52-million) New Bohol Airport operations, maintenance, development
P14.62-billion ($325-million) Laguindingan Airport operations,maintenance and development
P40.57-billion ($902-million) Davao airport operations,maintenance,development
P20.26-billion ($450-million) Bacolod airport operations, maintenance,development
P30.40-billion ($675-million) Iliilo airport operations, maintenance, development
P298-billion ($6.63-million) Road Transport Information technology Project (Phase II)
P1.59 billion ($35-million) Civil Registry System Information Technology Project (Phase II)
"All of these are priority. These are long overdue projects needed by every Filipino," said Palacios, who replaced Cosette Canilao.
Palacios is confident that it will be able to auction off these 11 projects before Aquino steps down.
